On my last trip to San Francisco, I left my entire makeup bag on the plane, never to be seen again. Seeing as this bag contained all my favorite things at the time, I was devastated. Now, over a month since the incident, I am happy to report that I have resisted the urge to repurchase every thing in that bag. The only thing that I found I could really not live without was an eyelash curler.
Ok, I re-bought the MAC 239 also, but let's be real - that is a necessity.
I had been using the Shu Uemura eyelash curler for a while, and it had become a holy grail for me. I was painfully reminded of how good it was when I went back to my one dollar e.l.f one.
Shu Uemura is a little annoying to get in the U.S. now, and I didn't feel like paying for shipping, so I did a little research on the Shiseido one, which also has rave reviews.
I fell in love with this after one try at the counter, and immediately snatched it up. It fits my eyes even more perfectly than the Shu, so that I have complete control in getting to the roots of my lashes. You don't need to clamp down very hard to get a good curl; it is an amazing tool. The sleek graphite look is also really nice.
When I first got the Shu Uemura curler, I didn't think it was as special as everyone made it out to be, but with this one I can really feel and tell the difference. The Shu Uemura is fantastic, but this Shiseido curler is just one step above in my opinion. I love it so much, and can't recommend it enough, especially for asian eyelashes.
Let's just hope I don't lose this one on a plane...
Hope you're all having a lovely week!

I'm so sorry you lost your makeup bag on the plane! :( Aww...that must have been the worst thing ever when you found out :/ I've never tried the Shiseido one. I've always sworn by Shu. I am tempted to get the shiseido one to try. I think I'll like it a lot as well :)
ReplyDeleteI've never tried the Shu Umera curler but I Love this one.. It's a staple in my collection and it's one of the few things that I MUST use everyday.. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to purchase this for my kit. I'm using a Sephora one (got sucked in by the cute purple shade :p), but it's not curling as well as I would like. If I don't have to clamp down too hard, then that's less chance of me hurting someone.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review, Vida!
I'm going to have to try this out! I have yet to find an eyelash curler that works well!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks so much for the comment on my blog! Would you like to follow each other?

I first heard about the Shiseido curler when I was in Taiwan and apparently that's what all the magazine models swore by. I've been using it for more than 7 years now, and I never felt the urge to switch, despite how everyone else around me raves about the Shu curler :P

Thanks for this suggestion. I will still have to give it some thought whether this would be the best eyelash curler in the market for my girl friend. There are just so many choices to choose from.
ReplyDeleteShiseido eyelash curler is always in my bag. I use it whenever making up so that my eyelash becomes curler and more attractive.
